Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd MLCO has launched NORDAQ water purification and bottling solution in its portfolio.
The filtration technology has been adopted across Melco's global property portfolio, including at its properties in Macau, the Philippines and Cyprus.
NORDAQ, a Swedish company, supports hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise lines and lifestyle destinations in producing premium water bottled on-site with minimal environmental impact.
According to Melco's sustainability strategy, Rise to Go Above & Beyond, the resort operator will replace single-use plastic (SUP) bottles with refillable glass bottles across all its operations.
Throughout 2022, Melco NORDAQ was installed across 43% of Melco's hotel rooms and three restaurant outlets in Macau and Manila, eliminating a total of over 1.4 million SUP bottles at Manila and its Macau properties.
The NORDAQ system has also been launched at Melco's latest integrated resort property, City of Dreams Mediterranean, which officially opened its doors to guests on July 10.
"We have been developing and enhancing our 2025 roadmap to address the root causes of plastic pollution within our operations, and as part of this, we are glad to have rolled out the NORDAQ solution across our properties in both Asia and Europe," said Lawrence Ho, Melco Chairman & CEO.
Price Action: MLCO shares traded higher by 2.71% at $11.28 on the last check Monday.
