Cardinal Health, Inc. CAH launched its next-generation NTrainer System 2.0 to help premature and newborn infants in independent feeding.
The system focuses on non-nutritive suck, or NNS, a crucial pre-feeding skill in newborns and preterm infants. NNS is critical for safely transitioning from feeding tubes to breast or bottle.
With Cardinal Health's latest medical device, infants develop the oral coordination skills for the transition to independent feeding, thus helping to reduce their neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) length of stay.
The device is designed to support proper suck-swallow-breathe coordination in premature infants.
