A consortium led by K2 Construction Consultants and including Parsons Corp PSN and Culmen International, has bagged a five-year contract with a potential value of about $253 million.
The award is from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD) for the deployment of technology to detect nuclear and radiological devices entering the U.S.
The team will deploy radiation portal monitors (RPM) for the Radiation Portal Monitor Program, enhancing the ability to recognize the movement of radiological and nuclear materials through U.S. borders.
Units will be deployed across the U.S.–Mexico and U.S.- Canada borders and in major airports, seaports, and global postal facilities.
"In close partnership with the DHS and K2, we look forward to deploying technologies that ensure the continued protection of American citizens and success of the RPM mission," said Jon Moretta, president, Engineered Systems for Parsons.
Price Action: PSN shares traded lower by 0.52% at $57.53 on the last check Friday.
