Latest To The List: Toyota Adopts Tesla's North American Charging Standard

Toyota Motor Corporation TM has reached an agreement with Tesla, Inc. TSLA to adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS) on its battery electric vehicles (BEVs) beginning in 2025.

With the deal, Toyota and Lexus customers in North America will soon access over 12,000 Tesla Superchargers as part of Toyota's vehicle electrification strategy.

From 2025, Toyota and Lexus electric vehicles (BEVs) will feature NACS ports, including the new three-row BEV SUV manufactured at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky. 

Additionally, customers with eligible Toyota and Lexus vehicles equipped with CCS will gain access to NACS charging via an "adapter" beginning in 2025.

Customers can access an extensive charging network of over 84,000 charging ports across North America, including level 2 and DC fast chargers, through the Toyota and Lexus apps.

With the addition of NACS, customers will gain access to even more charging options, particularly DC fast chargers, offering increased travel flexibility to various destinations.
