Fidelity National Financial, Inc. FNF said it faced a cybersecurity incident that impacted certain FNF systems.
In a regulatory filing, the company disclosed it commenced an investigation, retained leading experts to assist the company, notified law enforcement authorities, and implemented specific measures to assess and contain the incident.
"FNF has determined that an unauthorized third party accessed certain FNF systems and acquired certain credentials. The investigation remains ongoing at this time," the regulatory filing read.
Among other containment measures, the company blocked access to certain systems, disrupting its business.
"For example, the services we provide related to title insurance, escrow and other title-related services, mortgage transaction services, and technology to the real estate and mortgage industries have been affected by these measures," the company said.
However, FNF confirmed that its unit F&G Annuities & Life, an insurance solutions provider, was not impacted by the incident.
FNF said it will continue to assess the impact of the incident and whether it may have a material impact on the company.
