On Wednesday, Koninklijke Philips N.V. PHG said it has now installed more than 1,000 Philips BlueSeal magnet systems worldwide.
The Philips BlueSeal magnet, with 1.5T fully sealed magnet technology, requires only 0.5% of the helium used by conventional Philips MR systems.
Introduced in 2018, Philips’ BlueSeal magnet is a trusted and effective technology in global MRI accessibility.
It addresses helium scarcity and simplifies installation, making vital diagnostic technology more accessible worldwide.
Philips BlueSeal technology extends MRI accessibility to challenging locations, including remote areas and those vulnerable to natural disasters.
The lighter magnet, sans quench pipe, enables installation in previously inaccessible sites, enhancing healthcare reach.
Patients in remote Indonesian and Thai islands, as well as those in earthquake and volcano-prone regions like Iceland and Japan, are already experiencing its advantages, the company said in a press release.
“The rapid global adoption of our virtually helium-free MR technology is a strong example of how we are improving the lives of patients, expanding access to cutting-edge imaging technology,” said Ruud Zwerink, Business Leader of MR at Philips.
Price Action: PHG shares closed higher by 0.45% to $20.17 on Tuesday.
