Cisco Systems, Inc. CSCO launched a new approach to securing data centers and clouds in response to the increasing demands the AI revolution has put on IT infrastructure.
The company launched Cisco Hypershield to accelerate AI infrastructure with Cisco’s ethernet switching, silicon, and compute portfolio.
Cisco Hypershield protects applications, devices, and data across public and private data centers, clouds, and physical locations, the company said in a press release.
“Cisco Hypershield is one of the most significant security innovations in our history,” said Chuck Robbins, Cisco Chair and CEO.
Hypershield extends its reach by transforming every network port into a robust security enforcement point, introducing groundbreaking capabilities not only to cloud environments but also to data centers, factory floors, and hospital imaging rooms.
The company says this technology swiftly thwarts application exploits and halts lateral movement within minutes.
Hypershield is solving three key customer challenges – Distributed Exploit Protection, Autonomous Segmentation, and Self-qualifying Upgrades.
“With our data advantage and strength in security, infrastructure and observability platforms, Cisco is uniquely positioned to help our customers harness the power of AI,” Robbins said.
Price Action: CSCO shares are trading higher by 0.46% to $48.01 at last check on Thursday.
