NIO Inc. NIO has reportedly launched a new NIO House in Germany.
This marks the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer’s flagship showroom in Germany as it expands its presence in Europe, CnEV Post reported.
Situated in central Hamburg, this 1,294-square-meter facility aims to foster improved connections among local residents and NIO users, offering an open space for community interaction.
NIO now boasts its fourth NIO House in Germany, joining existing facilities in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Dusseldorf.
The NIO House marks the second opening by NIO in Europe within the last month and the eighth overall in the region to date, CnEV Post added.
On May 23, NIO launched its largest European facility in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, spanning eight stories.
NIO continues expanding its footprint in Europe amid increased tariffs.
The European Commission recently announced additional tariffs on electric vehicles imported from China, set to take effect next month. These tariffs, which will vary by manufacturer and could peak at 38.1%, underscore the challenges faced by NIO and others in the industry.
NIO and several other Chinese battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufacturers, which cooperated with the investigation but were not included in the sample, will face an additional tariff averaging 21%.
Upon the announcement of this decision, NIO expressed strong opposition to the increased European tariffs, emphasizing its steadfast commitment to the European market, per CnEV Post.
Price Action: NIO shares are trading lower by 1.16% to $4.28 at last check Friday.
