This cost reduction aims to enhance the competitiveness of Toyota’s electric vehicles in the Chinese market.

Despite a 22% sales drop in the first four months of this year compared to the same period in 2023, Toyota ranked fifth among all brands by car sales in China, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, which the report highlighted.

Toyota’s production for the month of May dropped by 4% to 812,191 vehicles, with a notable 22% decrease in China.
