Jiyue, the electric vehicle manufacturer established by Baidu, Inc.  BIDU in collaboration with Geely Holding Group, has reportedly commenced pre-sales for its second model, the Jiyue 07 electric sedan, with the official launch scheduled for next month.

Jiyue initiated pre-sales for the Jiyue 07 yesterday, with a starting price of RMB215,900 ($30,300), and announced that the model will officially launch on September 10, reported CnEV Post.

In China, the typical process for launching a new EV model involves unveiling, pre-sales, and a formal launch, allowing for an extended marketing period.

The Jiyue 07 is a C-class all-electric sedan and represents the brand’s second model, following the Jiyue 01 SUV.

The Jiyue 07 measures 4,953 mm in length, 1,989 mm in width, and 1,475 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,013 mm, CnEV Post added.

In comparison, the latest Tesla Model 3 is smaller, with dimensions of 4,720 mm in length, 1,848 mm in width, 1,442 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,875 mm.

The Jiyue 07 will feature the official Apollo 2.0 smart driving system, which normally costs RMB29,900. Currently, customers can purchase the system at a discounted price of RMB4,999, CnEV Post added.

Price Action: BIDU shares are trading higher by 2.11% to $84.10 at last check Thursday.
