Live Cattle Futures Trading Lower

August live cattle is trading at 111.77, down 0.45 cents/lb. October live cattle is trading at 111.90, down 0.42 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 113.42, down 0.35 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading lower just after the open Monday morning. Market chatter about weather for consumer demand and cattle production is making the rounds. The USDA average steer weights for the week ending June 25th were near 864 pounds, down from 867 the previous week and down from 872 pounds a year ago.
