Live Cattle Futures Higher

October live cattle is trading at 108.20, up 0.52 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 107.90, up 0.85 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 108.05, up 0.60 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading higher just after the open. Market chatter about cash prices and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's cattle-on-feed due out Friday afternoon is making the rounds. Tuesday's USDA cattle slaughter was 114,000 head, the total for the week is now 225,000 head versus 219,000 last week and 226,000 head a year ago.
