Live Cattle Futures Move Down

October live cattle is trading at 105.12, down 1.70 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 104.60, down 1.52 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 105.00, down 1.30 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading sharply lower just after the open. Trading is very choppy. Monday's USDA estimated cattle slaughter was 114,000 head versus 114,000 head a week ago and 108,000 head a year ago.
