Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. RRTS will spin off its Ascent Global Logistics business as it continues to revamp its operations. The move should allow each business segment to tailor solutions specific to their businesses, the company said.

A New Jersey court has ruled arbitration agreements signed by transportation workers are enforceable in the state, despite a federal arbitration rule to the contrary. It is considered a big win for employers, who would rather fight employment disputes through arbitration than in the courts.
