Regency Silver Corp RSMXF RSMX announced on Thursday the results from hole REG-23-21, which intersected 54.65m of 5.34 gold (g/t), including 7.36 g/t gold (Au) over 38m, at its flagship Dios Padre property in Northern Sonora, Mexico.
In May, Bruce Bragagnolo, the Executive Chairman and Director of Regency Silver, said in an interview with Market One that the Dios Padre project was unique and that, although they didn’t understand the extent of the system they were drilling, he knew it was “a big one.”
The Results: Hole REG-23-21 intersected high-grade gold over a long length and at a 65-meter step-out along strike to the southeast of the discovery hole REG-22-01, which returned 35.8m of 6.84 g/t gold, 0.88% copper and 21.82 g/t silver. The new hole was also a 75m step-out from REG-23-14, which assayed 35.9m of 5.51 g/t Au, including 29.4m of 6.32 g/t Au.
Importantly, this mineralized breccia zone has been verified to stretch for a minimum of 180 meters in length and reach depths of at least 150 meters, with the breccia zone remaining open along strike. The shape and orientation of the breccia zone are now known, with its trend running from the northwest to southeast and its dip at approximately 60 degrees toward the northeast.
Regency Silver also discovered that the orientation of the breccia zone is unrelated to the orientation of the Quartz-feldspar porphyry (QFP) zone, the latter which is linked to the copper mineralization is closely linked to the QFP unit.
“The gold breccia is a large, high-grade gold zone. Consistently drilling into a mineralized zone as thick as an 18-story building builds our confidence that we can extend the high-grade core along strike with strong potential for continued high-grade zones up-dip 400m toward the historic silver mine,” Bragagnolo said in the press release.
What’s Next: Regency Silver will host a virtual investor webcast to discuss its latest drill results and to provide a corporate update to investors at 9 a.m. EDT.
