Cramer Talks About The Best Of Breed Stocks AGN, MRX, TIF, COH, MO, PMI, WYNN, LVS, BUD

On CNBC’s Mad Money show, Jim Cramer said that the right theme could add significant value to a portfolio. This is particularly the case if an investor has chosen “the best of breed stocks.” The best stocks make money whether or not the going is good. “Big picture themes never go out of style,” Cramer said. The “two most important themes have been vice and vanity,” Jim added. Once you have chosen and purchased such a stock, it does not mean you can now forget them. Equities and sectors could lose favour with investors go, so “homework and discipline are always part of the equation,” Cramer cautioned. Regarding vanity, companies that make money by “helping us look better are always in vogue.” Cramer’s favorites are Allergan AGN and Medicis Pharmaceuticals MRX. One should think of accessories like purses, watches and jewelry. Cramer likes Tiffany TIF and Coach COH in this space. In the arena of vice, the “most lucrative is smoking.” “…investors need to stick with companies with the best track record, proven managements and strong fundamentals, and that means Altria MO and Phillip Morris International PMI,” Cramer said. The next most lucrative business is gambling. Cramer suggested turning to the Las Vegas of China - Macau. The best of breeds here are Wynn Resorts WYNN and Las Vegas Sands LVS. Next comes the vice of alcohol.
