Brian Sozzi of Wall Street Strategies was on CNBC this morning discussing Wal-Mart's WMT quarterly earnings and guidance, which were largely disappointing.
Sozzi has a Sell rating on shares. Sozzi said that he expected the U.S. market to be challenging, because of merchandising problems. Sozzi said that Wal-Mart continues to face traffic issues, despite the average ticket being up slightly, thanks in large part to inflation.
Sozzi said that this is a strategic misstep, and that it will take a while for the consumer to come back to Wal-Mart.
