Try 50 percent.
According to Chinese venture capitalist and notable technologist Kai-Fu Lee, artificial intelligence will prove to be "the decision engine that will replace people" and will be apparent within the next 10 years.
Lee told CNBC the new wave of technology will eventually prove to be more important than every single human tech revolution combined, including electricity, the industrial revolution, the internet and mobile internet.
The venture capitalist further explained that he holds ownership stakes in companies that can recognize 3 million different faces all at the same time and companies that can evaluate and disperse a loan in under 10 seconds.
He said even superhumans can't come anywhere close to accomplishing these tasks. Needless to say, the applications for artificial intelligence and automation technologies can be found in every single industry.
Not Doom And Gloom
Alibaba Group Holding Ltd BABA's chairman Jack Ma recently said the continued adaptation of artificial intelligence and automation will result in "much more pain than happiness" over the next three decades. But this isn't at all how Lee sees it.
Lee thinks, while 50 percent of human jobs will be lost to machines, it will also create a "huge amount of wealth for mankind and wipe out poverty."
Lee also believes machines will never be able to replace a job that contains human-to-human elements.
"Touching one's heart with your heart is something that machines, I believe, will never be good at," he said.
