The broader markets are down slightly this morning, but there are a handful of stocks that making strong moves, one way or the other.
Barnes & Noble BKS is up around 15% on news that Bill Ackman is going to finance a $16 per share cash bid for the company, through Borders BGP.
Borders Group BGP is also up sharply on this news, gaining almost 35% as well.
Polypore International Inc. PPO is up more than 14% after the company received an upgrade at Baird. It was moved to Outperform from Neutral.
Blyth Inc. BTH was off more than 7% on a lowered outlook for 2011.
Celgene Corp. CELG is off 9.2% on news that its cancer drug Revlimid is not living up to expectations.
