Mid Cap Winners (MCP, JOYG, CPRT, BEXP)

There are quite a few mid-cap stocks that are moving sharply higher today, led by Molycorp and Joy Global. Nolycorp MC is up around 11% today on news that the Dept. of Energy put out a report this morning that is worried about the U.S. supply of rare earth metals. China holds 97% of the worlds known reserves and Steven Chu, Energy Secretary is worried that the U.S. does not have enough resources to meet our needs. Joy Global JOYG is up strongly, gaining more than 7% after the company beat and raised earnings and revenue estimates for 2010 and 2011. Ryder System, Inc. R is up around 5% after the company was upgraded to Outperform at RBC Capital, and its price target was raised to $62. Copart, Inc. CPRT is up around 5% after the company commenced a tender offer to purchase up to $400 million of its common stock at a price of $38.00 per share. Brigham Exploration Company BEX is up around 4% after the company was initiated with a Outperform at Northland Securities with target at $36.
