JCPenney Reports December Sales 3.7% yoy

J. C. Penney Company, Inc. JCP reported today that its comparable store sales for the five-week period ended Jan. 1, 2011, increased 3.7 percent over last year with fine jewelry and women's accessories reporting the strongest results. Geographically, the best performing regions were the southeast and northeast regions. Total Company sales in December increased 2.3 percent.
