Private education company Apollo Group APOL released its first quarter earnings results on Monday after the closing bell. The company reported income of $236 million or $1.61 per share, versus $240.4 million or $1.54 per share in the year ago period.
On an adjusted basis, APOL reported income of $238.9 million or $1.63 per share, compared to $229 million or $1.47 per share, in last year's fiscal first quarter. This came in ahead of analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $1.35.
Net revenue was $1.32 billion compared to $1.26 billion in the year ago quarter. This also beat Wall Street estimates which called for revenue of $1.26 billion.
In after hours trading, APOL shares have jumped 8.88% to $39.13. During regular trading hours, APOL lost 5.38% to $35.94.
