Genesee & Wyoming Reports 47 Cent EPS (GWR)

Greenwich, Connecticut-based Genesee & Wyoming Inc. GWR on Tuesday morning released financial results that missed Wall Street earnings expectations. Genesee & Wyoming Inc reported that its 4th quarter net income rose to $19.9 million, or 47 cents per share, up from $18.3 million, or 44 cents per share, a year earlier. The company reported earnings from continuing operations of 51 cents per share. Genesee & Wyoming Inc reported revenue of $169.67 million, up from $139.91 million a year earlier. A poll of analysts conducted by Thomson Reuters showed an average Wall Street estimate of expected earnings of 53 cents per share, on revenue of $$167.92 million. Genesee & Wyoming Inc ended the previous trading session at $52.81 per share. Analysts covering the company's stock have a consensus price target of $55.55 per share. Genesee & Wyoming Inc owns and operates short line and regional freight railroads in the United States, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands. The company's operations currently include 63 railroads organized in nine regions, with approximately 7,400 miles of owned and leased track and approximately 2,000 additional miles under track access arrangements.
