Entergy Posts Mixed Results (ETR)

New Orleans, Louisiana-based Entergy Corporation ETR announced on Tuesday morning that it beat consensus Wall Street earnings estimates, while missing revenue expectations. Entergy Corporation reported that its 4th quarter net income fell to $228.3 million, or $1.26 per share, down from $313.8 million, or $1.64 per share, a year earlier. The company's earnings on an operational basis came in at $1.30 per share. Entergy Corporation reported revenue of $2.53 billion, up from $2.50 billion a year earlier. According to a survey of analysts by Thomson Reuters, the average Wall Street estimate called for earnings of $1.24 per share, on revenue of $2.68 billion. The company mainteined its full-year 2011 earnings guidance in the range of $6.35 to $6.85 per share on both as-reported and operational bases. Entergy Corporation (ETR) closed the previous trading day at $73.91 per share. Analysts covering the company's stock give it a consensus price target of $78.21 per share. Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. The company owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, and it is the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States.
