Dow AgroSciences Receives First International Patent

Dow AgroSciences LLC, a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company DOW, announced today the publication of an international patent application for its lead commercial herbicide tolerance event in corn. The corn event is part of Dow AgroSciences' innovative new class of herbicide tolerant traits, and is planned to be commercialized in the 2012-2013 timeframe. As described in Publication No. WO/2011/022469, the invention includes 2,4-D tolerant corn plants containing the novel transformation event in corn plants and methods of using the corn plants and 2,4-D herbicide to control glyphosate resistant weeds.
