Walgreens WAG had February sales of $5.73 billion, an increase of 7.8 percent from $5.32 billion for the same month in 2010. Duane Reade stores, acquired in April 2010, contributed 2.7 percentage points to the total sales increase for the month.
Total front-end sales increased 10.6 percent in February, including 4.5 percentage points from Duane Reade stores. Comparable store front-end sales increased 3.8 percent. Customer traffic in comparable stores increased 1.6 percent, while basket size increased 2.2 percent.
