Amedisys Reports First Quarter Revenue and Earnings and Reaffirms 2011 Guidance

Amedisys AMED, a leading home health and hospice company, today reported its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011 and reaffirms 2011 guidance. Net service revenue of $364.3 million compared to $413.0 million in 2010, a decrease of $48.7 million or 11.8%. Same store agencies decreased $40.5 million, $16.2 million of the decrease related to agencies closed or consolidated during 2010 offset by $8.0 million in revenue related to start-up and acquisition agencies. Net income attributable to Amedisys, Inc. of $15.3 million compared to $36.6 million in 2010, a decrease of $21.4 or 58.3%.
