By 10:48 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 12.45 points, or 0.10%, to 12,389.17, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had gained 0.55 point, or 0.04%. The NASDAQ composite index rose 1.06 points, or 0.04%.
Some of the narrow based indexes that are supporting the markets are Rare Earth Stocks, which have gained 4.9%, Video Game Stocks, up 2.2%, and Copper Stocks, moving 2.1% higher as a group.
In Tickerspy's Rare Earth complex, Molycorp Inc MCP had surged 9.6%. MCP purchased a controlling stake in AS Silmet for around $89 million.
The best performing Tickerspy Video Game stock has been Majesco Entertainment Company COOL, which was up 11.6%. COOL shares have jumped 272.73% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 12.21% in the same period.
Teck Resources Ltd TCK is today's leading Tickerspy's Copper stock, gaining 5.3%. TCK and union negotiators reached an agreement to end Canada mine strike.
