The TJX Companies March Sales up 1%

The TJX Companies, Inc. TJX today reported March 2011 sales results. Sales for the five-week period ended April 2, 2011, were $2.04 billion, up 1% over the $2.03 billion achieved during the five-week period ended April 3, 2010. For the nine-week period ended April 2, 2011, sales reached $3.5 billion, a 2% increase over the $3.4 billion achieved in the same period last year. Consolidated comparable store sales for the five-week period ended April 2, 2011 decreased 1% compared with a 12% increase in the same period last year, which was the Company's strongest monthly comparable store sales increase of that year. For the nine-week, year-to-date period, consolidated comparable store sales increased 1% over the same period last year.
