ICE Reports Futures Volume for April; Year-to-date ADV up 15%

IntercontinentalExchange ICE reported futures volume in April 2011. Average daily volume for ICE's futures markets was 1,277,550 contracts, a decline of 8% from April 2010. Year-to-date through April 30, ADV across ICE's futures exchanges was 1,518,454 contracts, an increase of 15% compared to the first four months of 2010. Total futures volume in April 2011 was 25.6 million contracts. Volume in April was largely impacted by the U.K. calendar, which this year included two consecutive four-day holiday weekends.
