Ross Stores Reports 10% Rise In April Same-Store Sales

Ross Stores Inc ROST reported a 10% surge in its April sales at stores open at least one year. However, analysts were expecting same-store sales to increase 5.3%. ROST's total sales for the four weeks ended April 30 surged 14% to $651 million. The company narrowed its Q1 earnings forecast to a range of $1.47 to $1.48 per share, from its earlier forecast of more than $1.32 per share.
