Zygo Receives Order in Excess of $2 Million From Major Medical Device Company for High Precision Lens Assemblies

Zygo Corporation ZIGO today announced that its Optical Systems Division has been awarded a multi-million dollar order from a major medical device manufacturer to produce high precision objective lens assemblies used in ophthalmic laser surgery. The order is part of a new customer program, for which assemblies will be developed by Zygo's Electro-Optics group and manufactured in its Tucson, Arizona facility. "This program award is affirmation of our strengths in design and manufacturing of high precision objective lenses for use in advanced medical devices, as well as our ability to meet strict FDA guidelines and protocols," stated John Stack, President of the Optical Systems Division. "Zygo's capabilities in this area have also been decisive in our ability to obtain similar business from defense and semiconductor customers. This program demonstrates our ability to leverage key design and manufacturing competencies across these fast growing markets."
