General Motors CEO Says Opel is Not for Sale

General Motors GM Chief Executive Officer Dan Akerson told the German newspaper, Financial Times Deutschland, that the Opel brand is not for sale and is an important part of the company's global sales plans. Reports in the German media had appeared in June that GM's European unit might be sold to a Chinese automaker or to Volkswagen (VLKAY).
