Exide Technologies Announces Exchange Offer for 8 5/8% Senior Secured Notes Due 2018

Exide Technologies XIDE announced today the commencement of an exchange offer pursuant to which it is offering to exchange up to $675,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of its 8⅝% Senior Secured Notes due 2018, which have been registered under the Securities Act of 1933 (the "Act"), for an equal aggregate principal amount of its unregistered outstanding 8⅝% Senior Secured Notes due 2018 (the "Old Notes"). The Old Notes were issued on January 25, 2011 in a transaction exempt from registration under the Act. The terms of the New Notes will be substantially identical to the terms of the Old Notes, except that the New Notes will be registered under the Act and will not be subject to restrictions on transfer or provisions relating to additional interest applicable to the Old Notes. The New Notes will bear a different CUSIP or ISIN number from the Old Notes and will not entitle their holders to registration rights.
