Apple, Microsoft? No way. Rain and hail? Bring it on!
To most people in the tech industry, Google GOOG is currently known as the kooky search engine giant that shocked the world when it announced its plans to acquire Motorola MMI. The acquisition wasn't unprecedented (this is Google, after all). Regardless, it was one of the most surprising developments in tech history.
But while Google made this move to defend against the growing tornado that is Apple AAPL – and the fluctuating thunderstorm that is Microsoft MSFT – the Android maker is still surrounded by storms.
Today, however, Google has finally found a storm it can weather: the weather itself!
According to TechCrunch (and Google's own official blog), Google Maps has teamed up with Weather.com to bring you the combined experience of map navigations and weather information.
