News Corp NWSA announced Wednesday, that it has agreed to acquire social video ad platform Unruly Holdings Limited for about $90 million in cash at closing, plus up to approximately $86 million in performance-based future consideration. The deal is expected to close by the end of September. News Corp closed at $13.04 on Wednesday, a gain of $0.10 OMRON to Acquire Adept Technology for $13.00/Share The Deal:
OMRON Corporation and Adept Technology, ADEP announced Wednesday, that the two companies have entered into an agreement whereby OMRON will acquire Adept for $13.00 per share in cash through a tender offer. The tender offer is expected to commence on or about September 23, 2015. The expect is expected to close on or about October 22, 2015. Adept Technology closed at $12.93 Wednesday, up 62%. Hearing Chatter of Potential VF Corp Bid for Lululemon The Rumor:
Shares of Lululemon LULU spiked higher Wednesday on unconfirmed market chatter of a potential bid from VMC VMC. The rumored offer is $82.00 per share. A spokesperson for VF Corp declined comment on the rumor. A Lululemon spokesperson was not available for comment. Lululemon shares closed at $54.65 on Wednesday, a gain of 2.5%. Energy Transfer Equity Nears Deal for Williams The Rumor:
Energy Transfer Equity LP ETE is close to a deal to acquire Williams Cos. WMB, as reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday. ETE offered $64.00 per share for Williams back in June. Sources say the companies are in advanced talks, but a deal has not been finalized. Williams Companies shares rose more than 5% Wednesday, closing at $45.86, while Energy Transfer shares rose $0.43 to close at $25.74. Expedia, Orbitz Deal Said to have Won US Anti-Trust Approval The Rumor:
Expedia Inc.'s EXPE purchase of Orbitz Worldwide Inc.OWW has reportedly been cleared by US antitrust regulators, according to a soruce as reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday. The DoJ's antitrust division will announce it is closing the investigation into the proposed acquisition, after determining the deal was not a threat to competition, according to the report. Expedia announced in February, it was acquiring Orbitz for $12.00 per share in cash. Expedia shares rose almost 5% Wednesday, closing at $124.68, while Orbitz rose 6.5% to close at $11.92. Elliott Management Looking for PE Firm Partner to Take CDK Global Private The Rumor:
Shares of CDK Global CDK spiked higher Wednesday, on a report from Reuters that activist investor Elliott Management is seeking to take the automotive software company private, in partnership with private equity firm, according to sources. CDK traded as high as $55 following the report. Elliott and CDK declined comment on the rumor. CDK Global rose $0.20 Wednesday, closing at $51.71. Apple Acquires Mapsense for $25M-$30M, According to Sources - The Rumor:
Apple AAPL has acquired San Francisco startup Mapsense, according to sources, as reported by re/code on Wednesday. The purchase price is said to be between $25 million and $30 million. Mapsense builds tools for analyzing and visualizing location data. Apple shares rose $0.13 Wednesday, closing at $116.41
