Progress is said to be working with JPMorgan Chase on a limited auction process, the sources said. Progress Software and JPMorgan declined comment. Progress Software closed at $25.01 on Thursday, up 7.8%. WebMD Denies Rumor of Acquisition Talks The Rumor Denied:
WebMD Health Corp. WBMD announced Thursday, in response to media reports, that the company is not currently in any negotiations to be acquired. Financial Times reported that WebMD was considering a sale of the company or part of its business, according to sources. Walgreens WBA and United Health UNH were mentioned as potential bidders. WebMD closed at $49.12 on Thursday, down 7.69%. Dialog Semiconductor Declines to Revise Bid for Atmel The Termination:
Dialog Semiconductor plc DLGNF announced Thursday, that its Board of directors has decided not to revise its proposal to acquire Atmel Corporation ATML. Atmel has determined that the unsolicited acquisition proposal received from Microchip Technology Inc. MCHP constitutes a superior proposal and that it intends to terminate its merger agreement with Dialog. Atmel is required to pay Dialog a $137.3 million termination fee. Atmel closed Thursday at $7.93, down $0.03.
