Microsoft May Have Reopened Talks with Salesforce
The Rumor:
Shares of Salesforce.com CRM rose Thursday, on unconfirmed market chatter of a new offer coming from Microsoft MSFT. "Sources" say Microsoft could bid $92 to $94 per share.
In May 2015, Salesforce rejected a $55 billion offer from Microsoft, according to reports. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff had sought $70 billion, sources said. A spokesperson for Salesforce declined comment to Benzinga on today's rumor.
Salesforce closed Thursday at $80.16, up 3%.
Hearing Ningbo Shanshan in Talks to Purchase Stake in SQM
The Rumor:
China's Ningbo Shanshan Co is said to be in advanced talks to acquire a stake in Chile's Sociedad Quimica Y Minera SQM, according to sources as reported by Reuters on Thursday. Ningbo Shanshan Co is a manufacturer of lithium battery materials.
SQM closed at $26.16 on Thursday, up 4.93%.
Littelfuse to Acquire Select Product Portfolio from ON Semiconductor for $104M
The Deal:
Littelfuse, Inc., LFUS announced Thursday, it has entered into definitive agreements to acquire the product portfolio of transient voltage suppression diodes, switching thyristors and insulated gate bipolar transistors for automotive ignition applications from ON Semiconductor Corporation for $104 million. The transactions are expected to close in late August, 2016.
ON Semiconductor closed at $11.01 on Thursday, up 2.8%.
