One of the bestselling video games of 2020 is “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” from Nintendo Co, Ltd. NTDOY, and Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden and his campaign team are paying attention.
What Happened: The Verge reports the Biden-Harris campaign has launched four official Biden signs in “Animal Crossing” for supporters through the Nintendo Switch Online shop.
Gamers can deck out their homes with one of four signs: the Biden-Harris logo, the Team Joe logo, the Joe Pride logo and an image of Biden’s aviator sunglasses in red, white and blue.
Why It’s Important: The inclusion of campaign signs in “Animal Crossing” is a big win for the video game market.
“It is an exciting new opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands,” Christian Tom, director of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign, told The Verge.
“As we enter the final campaign stretch towards November, this is one way we are finding new creative and innovative ways to meet voters where they are and bring our supporters together.”
