Tesla Begins Hiring Battery Production Techs In China

Yesterday it was reported that Tesla Inc TSLA was hiring leaders for battery manufacturing in Germany. The company is expanding operations to include battery production, which it announced at its recent battery and investor day. 

Now Tesla fan site Tesmanian has found Chinese job listings, showing that Tesla is looking to hire battery production technicians at Gigafactory Shanghai.

Tesmanian mentions a small workshop outside of the main car factory that is being expanded to do more work on battery production. 

Benzinga's Take: Tesla continues to vertically integrate — one of its biggest strengths and similar to Apple Inc AAPL. Apple recently launched computers with its own silicon, a move Tesla made last year when designing its own Full Self Driving computer chip. The more Tesla vertically integrates, the better its prices and vehicle efficiencies are likely to become.
