Most people can relate to the feeling they get when they’re settling into a seat at the movies with the smell of popcorn in the air. As soon as the speakers all around the audience engulf the movie-goers in sound, it transports them into the action. In fact, without the sound system, the experience isn’t the same. With so many streaming services available at the public’s disposal at home, there’s no reason to believe you can’t create that same experience in the comfort of your own living room. The problem lies in picking the right products at the right price that work together to produce an immersive experience for you and your family.
The Wireless Speaker and Audio Association (WiSA), founded by Summit Wireless Technologies WISA, knows how important sound is to the entertainment experience. In fact, it uses its sound technology in 75 brands of electronics you probably know.
What is WiSA?
WiSA is a leader in providing immersive sound without the bother of wires for smart devices and home entertainment systems. It implements high-def technology into TVs, speakers, computers, phones and more. The great thing about WiSA-certified products is the ability to custom-build a sound system to your exact specifications. From your TV alone to adding soundbars and speakers, you can create a unique sound to fit your needs and control the amount of money you spend. And with the launch of its Amazon.com Storefront in July 2021, WiSA brings all of its certified products into one convenient place to make it easy for the consumer to build the perfect sound system.
WiSA Growth, Engagement and Expansion
In order for WiSA to bring its technology to more consumers and into more homes, it focused directly on the customer through a 3-pronged approach: SoundSend, WiSA Wave, and Next-Gen Discovery. SoundSend, which launched in the 4th quarter of 2020, brought universal, low-cost WiSA connectivity to consumers.
The WiSA Wave project launched just before that in the 3rd quarter of 2020. It reached its goal of increasing consumer engagement by launching a new website, increasing promotions and giveaways, adding member pages and a WiSA-certified reseller program and spreading the word to consumers through sound education. All the effort to reach the consumer paid off with an increase of over 300% growth in traffic and a projection of over 1 million visitors by the end of 2021.
The combination of WiSA’s ecosystem, increased traffic growth and product launches put WiSA technology in competition with Sony Group Corp SONY, Sonos SONO and Bose sound systems. The company projects traffic on its website to meet and exceed 2 to 3 million visitors soon and projects 2021 2nd quarter growth of over 250% from the year prior.
Immersing the World in Sound
With 15 patents issued and pending, a scalable growth model and global expansion, WiSA plans to bring the power of sound to as many consumers as possible. It believes that sound immersion is the gateway to a heightened experience that’s unmatched by typical sound and entertainment systems that should be available to everyone and not just achievable within the walls of a movie theater.
