Former President Donald Trump’s comments on American Jews were “antisemitic,” a White House spokesperson said on Monday.
What Happened: Karine Jean-Pierre said, “Donald Trump's comments were antisemitic, as you all know, and insulting both to Jews and our Israeli allies.”
“For years Donald Trump has aligned with extremists and anti-Semitic figures and it should be called out," she said.
“We need to root out antisemitism everywhere wherever it rears its ugly head."
Why It Matters: Trump said on Truth Social on Sunday that “U.S. Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel — Before it is too late!”
Trump’s comments were condemned widely and described as “unabashed antisemitism” by the Jewish Democratic Council of America, according to a prior report.
Star Trek fame actor George Takei joined the condemnation and said GOP leaders have failed to condemn Trump for his antisemitic post.
Biden and other other Democratic leaders condemned officials of their own party in LA for their racist language against others.

Trump openly attacks Jews in the U.S. but there’s not been a word of condemnation from any GOP leaders or officials.
