Gifts For Elon Musk Fans And Tesla Investors — Two New Holiday Products For Sale By EV Company

Zinger Key Points
  • Tesla added two new items to its online store Tuesday, with one already out of stock.
  • The EV giant counts on word of mouth and strong brand recognition instead of television commercials.

Investors and fans of Tesla Inc TSLA are known for their strong following of the Elon Musk-led company. Tesla doesn’t use traditional advertising such as television commercials like automotive rivals, the company instead counts on a solid product and strong word of mouth from its customers.

Tesla fans have two more ways to show their love for the brand this holiday season.

What Happened: Known for launching Tesla branded products like Tesla Tequila and a "Don’t Mess With Texas" belt buckle, Tesla added two new items to its online store Tuesday.

The Tesla Model X-mas sweater is a play on one of the company’s most famous vehicles, the Tesla Model X.

“Whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, our limited-edition Model X-mas Sweater will keep you warm all season long,” the site reads.

The sweater features images of Tesla Superchargers and the Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y vehicles. The Model X-mas sweater has a list price of $65 and sold out within a couple of hours of going live on the website. Users can add their email address to be notified when it is back in stock.

The other item added is the "Tesla…& Chill" blanket, which has a price of $150 and is available under the lifestyle section of the Tesla shop.

“The Tesla…& Chill Blanket features a reversible black and gray pattern showcasing our S3XY vehicle lineup, Supercharger, the lightning bolt silhouette and snowflakes for the winter season,” the site says.

The blanket is made from recycled polyester chenille and measures 72 inches by 50 inches.

Why It’s Important: Tesla is one of the largest companies in the world and the leading electric vehicle company by units sold.

Musk and Tesla have released products that go viral and create additional brand awareness for the company. This includes a flamethrower, short shorts (aimed at Tesla short sellers) and most recently Burnt Hair cologne.

The company has also sold items like a Cyberwhistle that resembles the Cybertruck and can be purchased with 1000 Dogecoin DOGE/USD. Several items on the website are priced in Dogecoin, one of the many ways Musk has supported the meme cryptocurrency over the years. The two newly listed items had pricing only in U.S. Dollars.
