The war of words on Twitter between Elon Musk and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seems to be taking a new turn.
Last week in a tweet, Ocasio-Cortez said that Musk is trying to sell people on the idea that free speech is an $8 subscription plan, to which Musk responded by saying that her response was appreciated and that she should now pay $8.
On Friday, a Newsmax presenter shared a video on Twitter in which Ocasio-Cortez said that the moment she realized her Twitter mentions were "gone," it was "literally like a blank screen."

"So it turns out, we got under a certain little billionaire's skin," she said in the video.
Musk was quick enough to respond to the Newsmax presenter and said it was due to "a naked abuse of power" by the platform's new owner.
What can I say? It was a naked abuse of power.

Last week in a tweet, Ocasio-Cortez also said that her mentions and notifications had "conveniently" stopped working after she exchanged jabs with Musk.
Though Musk didn't reply directly to her message, he responded with a laughing emoji to a meme shared by a follower showing Ocasio-Cortez standing next to a Tesla with the caption, "AOC when realizes she helped Elon buy Twitter."

Both have battled on Twitter in the past. Earlier this year, Musk tweeted Ocasio-Cortez to stop flirting with him, his response came after the congresswoman took a shot at the EV pioneer.
