Trump Lawyer Warns DeSantis Not To 'Jump The Gun' For 2024 Election: 'He Needs To Stay In Florida'

Donald Trump's lawyer Alina Habba told Florida's Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis not to "jump the gun" on running for the president of the United States.

What Happened: Habba made her comments on Right Side Broadcasting Network's YouTube Channel, the video was first noted on The Daily Beast.

"DeSantis is DeSantis because of Trump," said Habba in conversation with fellow Trump lawyer and RSBN contributor Christina Bobb.

"He needs to stay in Florida," said Habba, a comment to which Bobb responded by saying, "100 percent."

"Just stay where you are. You are doing a great job in Florida." Habba said that DeSanti was "not ready yet" and told him "Don't jump the gun."

Why It Matters: Trump is reportedly planning to announce his candidacy for the upcoming 2024 presidential elections on Nov. 14. The former president and his team have been hinting at a possible campaign for weeks.

On Saturday, Trump gave DeSantis a new nickname calling him "Ron DeSanctimonious." The Florida governor is a potential Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential elections.

DeSantis and Trump have reportedly indulged in off-camera insult-flinging with the governor calling Trump a "moron who has no business running for president."
