Meta Platforms Inc.’s META instant messaging app, WhatsApp has rolled out its Polls feature for Android, the operating system by Alphabet Inc. GOOG GOOGL, and Apple Inc.’s AAPL iOS.
What Happened: WhatsApp Polls is available to everyone and it can be used both on group and individual chats by following a few simple steps.

The feature allows users to create a poll with up to 12 different options. Users can vote for one option or all the options, depending on their preferences.

To use WhatsApp Polls, update the app and then follow these steps:
Step I: On your smartphone, open WhatsApp and head to a group or individual chat box.
Step II: Tap on the attachment button on Android and the plus icon on iOS.
Step III: The Poll option will be at the bottom, next to 'Location' and 'Contacts.'
Step IV: Tap on Polls, and fill the ‘Ask Question’ field. Then, add options for voting.
Step V: After completing these steps, tap on send and it's done.
All participants in the polls can see how many votes an option has received.
Additionally, while users cannot forward polls, they can reply and react to them.
Why It's Important: The polls feature can come in handy if several people are trying to decide on something and need a majority consensus. A few days ago, WhatsApp rolled out the Communities feature globally, which is a spin on Slack workspace or Discord channel.
