Nike Cuts Ties With NBA Player Kyrie Irving

Nike Inc NKE officially severed ties with basketball player Kyrie Irving.
The shoe and athletic apparel maker took the decision a month after suspending the Brooklyn Nets player over his promotion of an anti-Semitic movie, the WSJ reports.
The partnership with the player resulted in a sneaker line popular with professional athletes and consumers.
Irving had expressed regret for his actions and said promoting the documentary was a mistake.
Nike’s relationship with the player had issues since late 2021 when he took to social media to complain his unhappiness with the design for his shoes.
With the decision, Nike has joined the likes of Adidas AG ADDYY, which ended a partnership with rapper Kanye West over his anti-Semitic comments.
Price Action: NKE shares are trading higher by 0.07% at $109.70 in premarket on the last check Tuesday.
