- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported the death of a person in a 2002 Honda Accord model, Reuters reported.
- Several incidents involving the explosion of Takata air bag inflators, unleashing metal shrapnel inside cars, have been reported in the past.
- The faulty air bag inflators in question have caused more than 30 deaths worldwide, 23 of which are in the U.S.
- So far in 2022, four deaths due to faulty Takata air bags have been confirmed involving Stellantis N.V. STLA and Ford Motor Co F model cars.
