Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden on Sunday held a phone call to discuss the Russia-Ukraine war.
What Happened: Zelenskyy said he thanked Biden for Washington's “unprecedented” help to Kyiv amid Vladimir Putin's ongoing war in Ukraine and for restoring its energy systems.
“I had a phone call with U.S. President Joseph Biden and thanked [him] for the unprecedented defense and financial assistance that the U.S. provides to Ukraine. This not only helps succeed on the battlefield but also maintains the stability of the Ukrainian economy,” Zelenskyy said.

The White House said Biden reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to continue providing Ukraine with security, economic, and humanitarian assistance and holding Putin accountable for the war crimes and atrocities.
Zelenskyy also held phone calls with France's Emmanuel Macron and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on the same day.
Although the Ukrainian president has regularly held calls with these leaders since Russia invaded the country in February, the accumulation of discussions in just one-day signals that Kyiv is looking to step up its diplomatic ties around the war.
“We are constantly working with partners,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address, adding that he expects some “important results” next week following the G7 Summit, a conference in France and events at the EU level.
Meanwhile, Ukraine forces launched a strike on a hotel in Luhansk where members of the private Russian military Wagner Group were based, killing many of them, reported Reuters.
