As Twitter rolls out the Twitter Blue $8 monthly subscription, some users are getting an error messages that says, "Your account is not eligible." Here are three reasons for the error message.
What Happened: Esther Crawford, director of product management at Twitter, said only some users may be getting the error message. Crawford was replying to a Twitter user, Kevin Healey, who complained that the social media platform was not allowing him to subscribe to Twitter Blue on Apple iOS.

Crawford said the account had been flagged by Twitter's impersonator defense primarily because of one of these three reasons — recently changed name, username or profile photo.
If you see this generic error message it's because your account hit one of our many impersonator defenses. We will add a more granular view so you can see the exact reason but top reasons are: recently changed your name, username, or profile photo. https://t.co/llXVRmOotw

However, it is unclear how long users must wait after changing their names or profile pictures before they can sign up for Twitter Blue.
On Monday, Twitter finally launched its Twitter Blue subscription at a monthly premium of $8. Users who subscribe to the service through the web will have to pay $8, but iPhone users will need to pay $11 per month.
Twitter chief Elon Musk also announced that Twitter Blue's ad-free tier will be available next year, albeit at a higher price.
